Rep Soccer

1. On Sunday at nine o'clock sharp the Taranaki Under 10 Girls Rep Team got on the bus and made the journey to Wanganui. I was sitting next to my best friend from the team, her name is Sophia. We were talking, laughing and having fun on the bus. After every conversation, we would look at the clock and it would be about 20 minutes later. We had a very entertaining ride to Wanganui.

2. Finally, we arrived at the soccer grounds.  Our first job was to gather our gear bags from the compartment below the bus.  We walked to the field that we would be playing on first. The whole time I was hoping that I would be in Sophia's team.
Then our coach split us into two teams I was really excited because Sophia and I were put together.

3.  In my team, there were Paige, Phoenix, Ariana, Sophia, Breeze, Skyla Katie, Molly and our goalkeepers Sophie and Zara.
Time for our first game, our team was really nervous and excited.
I had butterflies in my tummy and I felt pressure building. I was getting myself focused and in the zone.  Thinking carefully about our game plan and the advice from Dad and my coaches I was trying my best to prepare for the match.  "You got this Ella", I told myself as I ran onto the field.

4. Boom! game started.  The ball got kicked across the field from player to player, it was rebounding like a ball  in a pinball machine. Smash! we scored the first goal.   Hooray! one point for us (Taranaki).  With confidence building, higher and higher, our team was ready to destroy this match.
Taking one look at the opposition we could tell that we had fired them up.  Game on, I thought to myself.

5.No stopping to celebrate "we have to keep focused" I said to my team. Even though it was very exciting. The whistle blew for halftime, I touched my head, I knew my face was bright red and I could feel sweat dripping from my face.
"Team talk time," my coach said to the team. "You are doing very well so play like you played in the first half ".  Confidently, I ran on to the field ready for the second half.  Bring it on.

 6. The second half started I felt that I had to steal the ball off the other team more, I said to my self . Before I knew it, I had the ball  with force the opposition  attacked, I only just managed to pass the ball in time. Luckily my team mate  received the ball and she scored an incredible goal. "YAY!"  I said with excitement.
The final whistle blew. Our hard work had payed off... We had won.
Running off the field as red as a beetroot I was feeling like a champion.
